A flight is considered disrupted and you can claim for compensation if:
The flight was delayed and was late to arrive at the destination by more than 3 hours.
The flight was cancelled less than 14 days before departure.
The air carrier refused to fly you because there were no available seats on the airplane.
How do I know if I am entitled to flight compensation?
You are entitled to compensation if your flight was disrupted due to the airline’s fault, and the disruption fits the criteria listed regulation EC261/UK261/Turkish Shy Regulation. The easiest way to check whether you can receive compensation from the airline is to complete the free application form on our website.

What are extraordinary circumstances?
Extraordinary circumstances refer to any events outside of the airline’s control that have resulted in a flight disruption. These are situations where a disruption could not have been avoided, even if the airline had taken all reasonable measures.
Extraordinary circumstances include:
Strikes by airport employees or air traffic control
Political unrest
Extreme weather conditions
Security risks
Travel restrictions
Emergency health conditions
What is the flight reservation number and where can I find it?
It is a unique combination of 6 symbols – letters and numbers (for example DF87G#, REDYYD, or L5W4NW) – which you can find on your e-ticket or a document confirming the flight booking. If you no longer have the ticket, you are advised to thoroughly check your inbox, including the junk folder, for emails which may contain ticket payment confirmation, reminders about the date of travel etc – often, these letters also contain the booking number.
What should I do if the airline contacts me personally after I have filed a claim with Flight Compensation King?
Some airlines will contact you as soon as they receive the claim from us. They typically do this to persuade you to accept a reduced sum of money, or offer you other forms of compensation rather than cash. Please keep in mind that such an offer is evidence of the airline’s liability – it’s actually a good sign that we’ll be able to get you the full compensation you lawfully deserve.
